We believe there is a significant and important place in life for fine dining, with all of the joys and rituals surrounding it. This is why we moved our award-winning flagship restaurant to the historic Grant House at 150 Elgin Street in the heart of Ottawa in November 2014. Beckta's fine dining rooms are located on the ground and second floors of our beautifully restored heritage landmark, dating to 1875. This stately home is perfectly suited to our aspirations to put fine dining on centre stage in our nation’s capital.
We believe that the experience of great hospitality doesn’t have to be reserved for special occasions. This is why we created our Wine Bar. Where we offer a constantly-changing “fine-dining bar food” menu alongside a legendary cocktail and wine program, all delivered with extraordinary value and a genuine sense of caring.
Beckta has recently moved to the historic Grant House at 150 Elgin Street (formerly Friday’s Roast Beef House), where we hope to offer one of the most compelling dining experiences in Canada; all in a remarkable heritage landmark home in the heart of downtown Ottawa. To be able to deliver our unique brand of hospitality for all types of occasions, the restaurant has two distinct areas with two completely separate menus.
Our wine bar is open daily starting at 4 pm, and will offer a small plates and small bites menu alongside a remarkable cocktail and wine program until 10 pm Sunday and Monday, 11 pm Tuesday through Thursday, and midnight Friday and Saturday. We do not offer reservations in this area but welcome guests on a first come-first served basis. Here is our latest wine bar menu and award wining wine and cocktail list.
We encourage reservations in our fine dining areas, and they can be made online or by phone at 613-238-7063. Spread across two floors in four separate and intimate dining rooms, guests will be able to choose from either a three-course prix fixe menu or a five-course interactive chef’s tasting menu.
We now also have up to four private dining rooms ranging from six to thirty-six guests in a variety of formats and configurations, with modern audio-visual amenities such as separate audio and large-screen, high definition televisions for corporate or personal presentations. For more information or to book reservations, please contact our Events Manager Isa Forbes at firstname.lastname@example.org
We will be open for dinner only until early January when we will also be adding lunch service from Monday through Friday in both the wine bar and fine dining areas.
Our website will be updated in the coming weeks to showcase some photos of our new home along side some of our chef’s remarkable creations.
We are very excited to be able to share this incredible space, along with our trademark hospitality and world-class cuisine with you.
For more background on our move, we invite you to enjoy two of Laura Robin's recent articles from the Ottawa Citizen that profiled our story and that of the Grant House.
